The international trade team has extensive knowledge and vast experience in international trade, including aspects such as national and international litigation, trade remedies, safeguards, unfair international trade practices, market access, trade policy, multilateral and bilateral trade agreements, preferential trade regimes and customs regulation, among others.

Jáuregui y Del Valle stands out as one of the most dynamic legal firms with experience in anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations. The firm has represented exporters, importers and domestic petitioners in more than 40 investigations in this area, since its implementation in Mexico in 1987.

This area of practice has advised clients on market access strategies, using available incentives for export and import for multiple industries and services, including pharmaceuticals, automotive, agriculture and food. In addition, the Firm has extensive experience in customs regulations, rules of origin, tariff classification, customs valuation, technical barriers to trade, standards, permits, origin audits and customs-related administrative proceedings, among others.

Additionally, our attorneys have participated with the industrial and business sector in making Mexico’s proposals for the negotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Trade Agreement between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and Canada (USMCA).  Our team members represent a number of clients on issues related with these and other trade treaties and frequently participate in related courses and events in various associations, chambers and education institutions.

We have represented pharmaceutical companies such as Bayer, Merck, Schwabe and Merz Pharma, among others, in customs issues relative to the import and export of medicines, chemical substances and materials and pesticides, including import permits, tariff classification, rules of origin and related customs disputes.

We have advised for a long time, national and multinational companies, such as Almidones Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V. (subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland and Tate & Lyle), dedicated to the food and agricultural industry, offering advice on the multiple requirements for importing grains and food products and ingredients into Mexico and representing it in significant international business litigation and NAFTA arbitration panels.

Our extensive experience in anti-dumping and subsidy proceedings includes the representation of multinational companies and domestic producers in more than 40 investigations since 1987, when the Mexican anti-dumping and anti-subsidy system was introduced.
