Mr. Hurtado has been counsel to multiple domestic and foreign clients in regulatory and antitrust issues and trade disputes, mainly arising from customs regulation and international trade treaties. He has participated in more than 40 anti-dumping and anti-subsidy and antitrust investigations and is part of Mexico's list of panelists for NAFTA arbitrations. He has participated as a panelist in 3 Chapter 19 panels and as a party representative in 4 panels of such chapter.

Mr. Hurtado and his International Trade Team have a wide and varied expertise, including:

Advising and representing Importers, Exporters and Investors in Disputes and Arbitrations under NAFTA chapters 11 and 19. He has been a panelist in three Arbitration Disputes under NAFTA Chapter 19.

Advising and representing domestic and multinational companies to develop Entry Strategies that overcome market obstacles in Mexico.

He and his team work closely on any issue related to Mexican Administrative, Trade and Customs Authorities, in matters related to International Trade Taxes, Duties, Customs Regulations and Foreign Trade in general, as well as to promote trade practices and policies that guarantee market access for our clients.

He offers clients legal advice on how to take advantage of business and investment opportunities, taking advantage of preferences and rights set out in numerous multilateral and bilateral trade agreements signed by Mexico with its trading partners, including free trade agreements with the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, South America, Central America and others.

Mr. Hurtado has advised several national and multinational companies, including Almidones Mexicanos, Emerson Electric, Brinks, Bayer, Reckitt Benckiser, SAB Miller, Cementos Españoles, Grupo IUSA, Grupo Suramericana, Toyota, General Motors, Archer Daniels Midland, Tate & Lyle, Philips, Suzuki, SAB Miller, Saint-Gobain, The Linde Group, IBM, American Standard, Berwind Corporation, Colgate Palmolive, Grupo ADO, HBO Olé, Schwabe, MetLife and Lenovo, Posco, among others, on International Trade and Competition and Antitrust matters.

Mr. Hurtado has been a Professor of Administrative Law at Escuela Libre de Derecho over 20 years.
